Former CSC bookstore manager, student plead guilty

Former CSC bookstore manager, Sarah Porter, 25, of Gordon, plead guilty to theft by unlawful taking, a Class I misdemeanor, Tuesday, according to Dawes County Court House.
She was sentenced with a two-year probation, a victim empathy class, and restitution.
Porter was arrested March 15, in relation to stealing more than $10,500 from the Eagle Pride Bookstore.
Former CSC student Dominique Smith, 19, of Aurora, Colorado, plead guilty Tuesday, to attempted possession of more than one pound of marijuana and attempted possession of money intended to facilitate, a violation of subsection I of 28-416.
Both charges were Class I misdemeanors. He was sentenced with a $500 fine and court costs, according to the Dawes County Court House.
The Chadron Police Department arrested Smith on March 24, after a tip from CSC staff members led to serving a warrant on his room in Kent Hall.
