NSCS Board reports CSC settlement, awards grants
The Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees reported that CSC reached a settlement agreement with Sampson Construction Co., Inc. about damage caused by heavy rainfall in conjunction with a dislodged manhole cover in May 2014. Sampson Construction agreed to pay $60,000 for the clean-up and repair of five homes next to Eagle Ridge.
The NSCS also reported CSC was awarded four grants—Cosmogenic Dating of Holocene Glacial Advances in the Wind River Range, $6,000; Predicting Rock Failure Mode in Drilled Samples, $4,000; TRiO—Student Support Services, $247,344; and Upward Bound, $257,500.
The Cosmogenic Dating and the Predicting Rock Failure awards are funded through the NASA Nebraska Space Grant. These grants will offer a tuition waiver and stipend for a student researcher. The TRiO and Upward Bound awards are a continuation grant for the TRiO and Upward Bound services at CSC and are funded through the U.S. Department of Education.
Instructional-load reports, online-enrollment reports, and summer-enrollment reports were stated.
This year’s NSCS tour will be partnered with the University System tour with the goal to reach more students.
