Students entertain at lip sync battle
Many laughs were shared in the Student Center Ballroom at The Pit’s Annual Lip Sync Battle Thursday, Nov. 10. With multiple group and solo performances, there never was a dull moment.
From Lauren Bronson, 21, senior of Hay Springs; Jeff Mugongo, 18, freshman of Denver, or Lottie McNally, 17, freshman of Wenonah, New Jersey, performance after performance kept the crowd on their feet.
For many, the highlight of the night was when Willie Duncan, 17, freshman of Stockton, California, dressed up as Whitney Houston and performed “I Will Always Love You”.

Entering from the back, Duncan came in with a white dress and a wig on. The crowd immediately exploded with laughter and cheers as Duncan took the stage.
The Pit helped make the performance more dramatic by including fog machines on the stage. They were used multiple times throughout the night, making the atmosphere feel more professional.
Another hit performer of the night, Sonny Salazar, 19, freshman of Gering, executed a perfect moonwalk in his performance to “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson.
Some performers stayed on stage and took the event more serious, while others, such as Devin Fulton, 20, freshman of Glenrock, Wyoming, ran around the whole room. Whether it be standing on chairs or singing in people’s faces, Fulton kept the crowd on the edge of their seats.
Bronson, while performing “Holla Back Girl” by Gwen Stefani, had the crowd singing along with her and laughing hysterically. In 2014 at The Pit’s Voice competition, Bronson won the lip sync battle while, performing “Holla Back Girl” once again.
The Pit will host “Game Night: CSC vs. The Pit” at 9 p.m. tonight in The Pit.
