CAB reminds students of year-end events
Clubs announced the final events of the semester at the CAB meeting Tuesday night. Vice Chair of Programming Morgan Carrico lead the meeting, as CAB Chair Molly O’Connell was absent.
A RLA representative encouraged club members to come to the Self Defense Class sponsored by Zeta Alpha Kappa from 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the Student Center. An instructor will be there to give hands-on lessons.
Band announced they will have a concert at 7 p.m. Friday and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8. Jazz Band has a performance at 7 p.m. Tuesday. All three will be in the Memorial Hall Auditorium.
Carrico said the last Free Movie Night of the semester will be Dec. 11. The Free Movie Night dates for next semester are Jan. 29, Feb. 12, March 19, and April 23.
She reminded clubs that Casino Night is from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday in the Student Center, and they are still looking for dealers. Vice Chair of Finance Gavan Archibald added that this is one of CAB’s biggest events and there will be prizes such as Smart TVs, Smart watches, and laptops.
Carrico also said CAB is still determining events for next semester, so any club that has an idea may contact her.
Vice Chair of Records Aaron Eagle announced that the three-foot fundraiser Christmas trees are in for clubs to pick up.
Archibald said an Activity Fee Board position has opened up and he is looking for a CAB member to fill it. There was no Treasurer’s report.
Adviser Deena Kennell reported that Cassie Mitchell has been hired as coordinator for student activities and will start Monday.
Campus Improvement Committee Chair Carly Slaght asked club members to contact her if they are interested in joining the committee. She needs one CAB member to fill the open position according to Senate bylaws.
