New student activity director introduced to CAB

Senior Director of Student Affairs Pat Beu introduced the new student activity director, Cassie Mitchell, at the CAB meeting Tuesday night. Mitchell was formerly an admissions coordinator and resident director at CSC.
“I am excited to work with you guys as you plan your activities for next semester and next year,” Mitchell said.
CAB Chair Molly O’Connell said there will be a meet-and-greet with Mitchell sometime in January 2017, and encouraged students and advisers to come get to know the new activity director.
O’Connell then reminded clubs of the upcoming club fair 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 18, 2017, in the Student Center Ballroom. She said all clubs should plan to participate in the fair.
O’Connell also asked for event ideas for the spring semester. She said the CAB board has been discussing a possible pool party when the Aquatics Center opens, and laser tag. One student requested there be a doubles pool tournament, and another brought up arrow tag. If anyone would like to suggest an event for next semester they need to contact a CAB board member.
Vice Chair of Finance Gavan Archibald reported that the total spent by clubs is $40,507.57 and the total remaining is $163,996.66. The total remaining in the CAB budget is $6,407.25.
Clubs voted for the approval of a new Activity Fee Board member, Ben O’Banion, a table tennis representative.
Vice Chair of Relations Trista Schell announced that “Moana,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” and “Allied” will be showing for Free Movie Night Sunday.
A Phi Beta Lambda representative said they will be doing Christmas present wrapping in The Hub from 5-7 p.m. today.
Wind Symphony and Community Band are having a concert at 7:30 p.m. today in the Memorial Hall Auditorium.
There will not be a CAB meeting next week.
