District judge sentences former CSC student to 5 years in sex assault case

Former CSC student Timothy Jungquist, 21, of Pegram, Tennessee, was sentenced to five years in prison and $2,009.50 in court costs for one count of second-degree attempted sexual assault, a class IIIA felony, on Dec. 13, 2016.
Jungquist will serve his time with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, and is currently held in the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center in Lincoln. He is now a registered sex offender in Nebraska, according to Dawes County court documents.
Jungquist was arrested by Chadron Police Oct. 8, 2014, for first-degree sexual assault occurring in Andrews Hall, after the female victim reported the incident the previous day. He was released from Dawes County Jail Oct. 15, 2014, after posting a 10 percent of $50,000 bond, following a bond hearing that same day.
On Nov. 10, 2014, he pled not guilty to one count of first-degree sexual assault and one count of false imprisonment. However, on Feb. 12, 2016, Jungquist pled no contest to a reduced charge of second-degree attempted sexual assault, according to Dawes County court documents. The false imprisonment charge was dropped.
District Court authorities issued a bench warrant for Jungquist on July 12, 2016. At the time, Jungquist was in jail in Tennessee for a similar offense. He was brought to Chadron for sentencing following his release in Tennessee.
