Wishful Thinking

Director of College Relations Alex Helmbrecht sent campus-wide emails and text messages notifying students and employees that classes would not meet Tuesday and Wednesday, but the residence halls and dining services would remain open. The Tuesday email also stated that campus was rescheduled to open 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Wednesday email did not state when campus would re-open.
At 9 a.m. Wednesday, Helmbrecht sent another email stating that CSC’s standard text message did not reach everyone, but he reminded students and employees that the primary form of communication from the college is email.
Helmbrecht’s email stated, “I apologize for this inconvenience and I assure you the issue will be resolved as soon as possible.”
According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Wednesday, total snowfall in Chadron was one foot. The high today is near 27 degrees Fahrenheit and a low around 13 degrees Fahrenheit tonight with wind gusts up to 15 mph.
