CAAWC Supervisor Brandon Girard said all they have left to do is bring in some items from the old pool and clean. Girard said the opening date is still not confirmed however. There will possibly be an open house for the public once the center does open.
Girard said they are still fundraising and “actively looking at grants” to cover the building costs.
The hours of operation will be 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Girard said lap swim will probably begin at 6 a.m., followed by water aerobics classes. He said open swim will probably start at 3 p.m. CSC’s currently enrolled students may come to the classes, lap swim and open swim hours for free with a valid student ID card.
The center also has a walking track, a therapy pool, and a conference room.
Girard said they are currently taking applications from CSC students for work study lifeguard positions. The applicant will have to be lifeguard certified. There are no desk jobs open, as that will be part of the lifeguards’ position. To apply, there is a student employment link on the CSC website under the human resources section of the employees tab.
