Students brought new life to campus as the Chadron State College Residence Life Association hosted a Planting Party in The Hub at 9 p.m. Thursday.
“I put the program on because it was something I did in the summer of 2016 and [I] found it to be really fun growing your own plants in your room,” Jazz Bozner, 25, graduate student of Rock Springs, Wyoming, said.
As Kent Hall Resident Director, Bozner hosted the Planting Party, which allowed students to fill a cup with soil and plant their own seeds. Those who attended the program could choose from different herbs, vegetables, and flowers they would take to grow in their rooms.
The Planting Party program was deemed a success by Bozner.
“At first I didn’t know if anyone was really going to come and try to plant, but it was a huge relief when a flood of 30 people came walking in about five minutes after,” he said.
The successful night was aided by refreshments and prizes, which included flower pots, doormats and other gardening tools.
“It was a success and people had fun and will continue to enjoy the plants in their room,” Bozner said.
