CAB reminds students of spring volunteer opportunities

Clubs have two chances to volunteer at campus activities this spring. CAB highlighted the opportunities at the meeting Tuesday night.
Vice Chair of Programming Trista Schell announced that volunteer applications for The Big Event opened Monday. Students may sign up online through Thursday, April 13. TBE committee members will also be stationed in the Student Center from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4 p.m.-6 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday until April 13 to help students sign up. The Big Event will be April 22.
The second chance to volunteer is for Spring Daze, April 21-23. Anyone interested may sign up online or Senate also has a table in the Student Center for students, staff, and community members to sign up.
Schell also said the open forum topics tonight will be unisex bathrooms, Spring Daze, the pool allocation, a Phi Beta Lambda allocation, and Activity Fee Board bylaws.
CAB Chair Morgan Carrico announced Sunday is Free Movie Night. “Beauty and the Beast,” “Logan,” and “Kong” will be playing. She also said comedian Matt Pavich will be coming to campus 7 p.m. Friday, March 24.
Vice Chair of Finance Gavan Archibald reminded clubs to sign up in the Senate office for a budget meeting with AFB if they are requesting funds. Monday and Tuesday will be open for clubs requesting $500-$5,000. Thursday, March 23, Monday, March 27, and Tuesday, March 28, will be open for clubs requesting more than $5,000. Senior Director of Student Affairs Pat Beu asked that clubs bring an updated roster and constitution to their meeting.
Vice Chair of Records Aaron Eagle reminded clubs that after three consecutive absences they will receive a warning notice, and after five they will be terminated from CAB.
Makenzy Petty, sophomore of Hay Springs, requested to be approved as an at large member of CAB. She does not represent a club, but still wanted to attend CAB meetings as a voice for students. The motion to approve Petty passed.
A band representative announced that the Glenn Miller Orchestra will be performing at 7 p.m. tonight in the Memorial Hall Auditorium. CSC Jazz Band will open for the orchestra.
Schell announced it is rush week for Xi Delta Zeta and Zeta Alpha Kappa this week.
