RLA kicks off spring

The crafting stations included a friendship bracelet and necklace station, stations for making spring-themed name tags and decorations, and stations for painting small canvases and clay flower pots. Students could also make foam dandelion decorations, color with crayons, or make other arts and crafts with paint swatches, ribbons, and feathers.
RLA members Kodi Baumann, 22, junior of Chadron, and Haley Gallagher, 20, junior of Erie, Colorado, planned the event about a month in advance, according to Baumann. Gallagher said that most of the ideas for the different crafting stations came from Pinterest.
“I thought it would be fun to come and use your creativity and make anything you want,” Gallagher said.
One participant, Evan Clark, 22, senior of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, said, “I made a ‘bro-celet,’” when asked about the friendship bracelet station.
Other students painted night sky scenes and portraits, among several other projects. Around 50 people attended the event.
