14th annual Black Tie Calf Fry
The CSC Rodeo Team’s annual Black Tie Calf Fry will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday in the Student Center.
The Black Tie Calf Fry is a fundraiser for the CSC Rodeo Team that is in its 14th year. The event raises money through tickets purchased to enter the event and silent and live auctions. The auctions will include western decor items, handmade leather goods and western art pieces, Tena Cook, marketing coordinator, said in her press release, Monday.
Those who purchase a ticket will be treated to a dinner of roast beef and “calf fries.” Tickets are $15 if purchased beforehand and $20 purchased at the door. All proceeds will go towards the rodeo team’s travel, equipment, livestock and other expenses.
“Without the community and their support of our western heritage, [we] would cease to exist. Their support is humbling,” Dustin Luper, CSC rodeo coach, said.
Guests will be entertained throughout the night by live music and a guest speaker, Marvin Garrett, a four-time world bareback champion.
Those looking to purchase a ticket for Saturday’s event can contact a member of the rodeo team or contacting Luper at 309-432-6286.
