CAB hosts AFB workshop

CAB Treasurer Tierra Snyder, and Vice Chair of Finance Lukas Klueber, led the 2018 AFB Budget workshop. In addition to discussing how to fill out the budget packet clubs need to fill out in order to receive funds, new changes for club fund procedures were also discussed.
One change that was mentioned in the meeting for clubs, was that each club can only buy one article of clothing for their members. The only way a club can purchase more than one is if the articles of clothing are for members of the campus community. The example given is that The Nest gives out t-shirts and other swag to students not involved in The Nest at sporting events.
Klueber mentioned that field trip requests must be sent at least two academic months in advance. The reasoning for the time frame is that trips have to be approved through AFB and Senate. Trips that cost under $5,000 will not be required to meet with AFB to discuss their trip, but trips that cost $5,000 or more will be required to have every member attending the trip at the meeting.
Another change is that this year only $100 will be allocated to clubs for gas for each trip. The total requested for gas cannot exceed $500 each year. Clubs were also reminded that food will not be paid for on trips.
Another International Luncheon will be held today in the Student Center from noon to 1 p.m. featuring Anas Haddadi of Morocco.
This Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., United is hosting a Harry Potter movie marathon in the Student Center.
The Black Tie Calf Fry will be held in the Student Center at 6 p.m. this Saturday. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 from a Rodeo team member or $20 at the door.
CAB is hosting this month’s Free Bowling Night this Sunday, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
