Contribute to The Eagle
The year is slowly coming to a close and students are registering for fall classes. It is a great time to look ahead into your schedule for the upcoming semester and to consider new activities or clubs to join and be a contributing member.
The Eagle is a rewarding experience, not only for learning proper AP writing skills, but also for acquiring general communication skills. Reporting for The Eagle can require interviewing people, which is a great skill to have for future interactions.
The Eagle is a great way to get more involved on campus. We report on everything from national events to campus events, so you can get a taste of everything.
Do you feel passionate about something? Write an opinion for our Opinion section. We can always use more opinions. If you are interested, you could even write a weekly column for The Eagle, in order to add to your portfolio.
Weekly columns can provide a break from homework and essay-writing to writing about something you want to write about. If you write about things that interest you or that you feel strongly about, it can be a creative outlet and a break from mundane schoolwork.
Do you want to tell everyone about your favorite book, television show or music album? Write a review for our Lifestyles section.
Reviews allow you to share with the world about the things you like or dislike, and it can be about practically anything. This can be used as an excuse to go see a new movie you’ve been dying to see or to sit down and binge a new Netflix series.
The Eagle is a great organization to become involved in. It is an awesome place to meet new friends and to learn what it’s like to work for a newspaper.
It’s great career experience if you’re interested in journalism and want to get a taste of what it’s like to be a journalist in the “real world.”
It can also give insight on what it can be like to be a freelance reporter and can look great on resumes to have a wide-range of experience.
Do you have experience taking pictures? Have you considered taking pictures for The Eagle? We are always looking for photographers to attend events. It is a great way to get your name out there and allows for additions to a future portfolio you could need while job hunting.
You can how your voice could benefit The Eagle and bring a new point of view to the Opinion section. You can also experience new campus events by reporting on them for News and Lifestyles.
We would love to get to know you and help you to build your writing skills and resume. Stop into The Eagle newsroom in Old Admin room 235 to talk to us about opportunities to make your voice heard.
