The Pit plays host to welcome back party

Last Thursday, as students were settling into the first week of the spring semester, The Student Center Lounge and The Pit hosted a Late Night at The Pit Welcome Back Bash in the Student Center from 9 p.m. to midnight.

The party was organized by Pit staff member Sara Flores, junior of Tegucigalpa. Flores said the welcome back party was to welcome students to a new semester. Flores, along with six other staff members helped run the night.

About 40 students came to participate in the night’s activities.

“They have good stuff tonight; good food, good music, good night,” Said Jaden Mohr, 19, freshman of Kimball. “This event gave students an opportunity to interact with their peers and have a good time.”

The event had a variety of different games including water pong, pool and cornhole. Snacks and refreshments were also provided.There were also raffle prizes drawn at midnight. Students could win prizes such as movies, candy, school supplies and more.

From 7-9 p.m. tonight, The Pit will be pairing up with NOCS to host a country swing dance night in the Student Center Ballroom.
