Students experience the joy of painting
The Residence Life Association hosted “Painting with Bob Ross” 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Hub. Students learned how to paint from a video of the renowned television painting show host, Bob Ross, teaching the dynamics of painting. The event was open through early registration to CSC students.
“My painting didn’t look like it would turn into anything when I started, but it came out beautifully,” Dinema Mate, junior of Mozambique said.
The two-hour long event led by Edna Hall Associate Director Channing Jons, who had taken part in several Bob Ross events previously, showed it was a great way to teach students about art and to allow them show their artistic skills.
“I was skeptical at first because I didn’t think I could do much when it came to painting, but it was a great learning experience,” Yen Nguyen, junior of Vietnam said.
The participants were excited with their final look of their paintings and many said they would recommend this event to friends. RLA also encourages students to participate more in campus activities which are a great socializing opportunity for all students and to learn something new at the events being hosted.
