Music faculty perform recital
CSC faculty performed a recital open to the public 3-4 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Sandoz Center Chicoine Atrium in front of over 30 attendants.
The recital featured Bobby Pace, Dr. Michael Stephens, Dr. Mckay Tebbs, Dr. Joel Schreuder, Dr. Brooks Hafey, Dr. John Wojcik and Dr. Rick Puzzo.
Playing the piano, Pace performed “Twenty-Four Preludes for Piano” by Nikolai Kapustin, “The Little Horses” by Aaron Copland and “Sinfonia con tromba” by Giuseppe Torelli.
Joined by Stephens on saxophone, Tebbs played the guitar and performed “In a Sentimental Mood” by Duke Ellington. Tebbs also performed “Stardust” by Hoagy Carmichael and “Sir Duke” by Stevie Wonder.
“I really enjoyed playing stardust because that is a beautiful song and brings back a lot of memories for a lot of people” Tebbs said.
Puzzo wowed the audience with his performance on the marimba alongside Pace performing “Concerto for Marimba and String Orchestra” by Eric Ewazen.
The Faculty Recital was the first of many upcoming recitals with senior guitar, trumpet, trombone and clarinet recitals coming up. The music department will also be hosting a guest artist, pianist and singer Nick Linn, 7 p.m. Tuesday.
