According to Cross Country Assistant Coach Charles Pruitt and CSC Sports Information Director Kaleb Center, CSC has hired Luke Karamitros to take over head coaching duties of the Eagles’ cross country team.

According to Adams State University, Karamitros spent the last three seasons as a volunteer assistant cross country and track and field coach with the Grizzlies. Last season he coached alongside former CSC Head Cross Country Coach Brian Medigovich in Medigovich’s first season as an assistant coach with the Grizzlies.

According to ASU, while Karamitros was an assistant coach the Grizzlies earned four national titles. He is described as being “characterized by his high energy and passion to propel athletes to pursue the team objective of achieving both academic and athletic excellence.”

At the age of eight, Karamitros moved to Shenyang, China, and returned to the United State when he was 17. He graduated high school in Atlantic, Iowa. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in sports management from SBU.
