Eagle Leader peer mentor program seeking particpants

An informative meeting was scheduled on Wednesday, Nov 6th for the new Eagle Leader Peer Mentor Program. Due to no attendance, the meeting did not go its entire course.

The program is geared toward giving students a friendly face who they can ask for help and guidance to make the transition into college life easier. It is mainly to refer students to the right resources on campus like tutoring, START, project strive, intramural sports, campus activities, finals schedule, FAFSA and more.

According to Graduate Assistant Gabriela Perez, 24 of Souix City, Iowa, the program is currently trying to hire people who want to be mentors. Perez is hoping more people hear about the program and want to be a part of it.

“Our goal is not necessarily academics as we have programs like the Learning Center and Back-On-Track, but we are more concerned about the overall well-being of students,” Perez said.

To learn more about the program or for information about how to join, contact Perez in the Student Activities Office, located in the Student Center, or email her at [email protected]
