RLA hosted a Pool party 8 to 9 p. m. Friday in the aquatic center. There were not many students that attended the events as would be expected. About 18 students participated. The students held diving competitions, going down the water slide and playing water basketball.

RLA spent roughly $120 on pizza and drinks for the final event of wellness week. According to Tori Meschke, 20, Junior of Broken Bow the pool party was for students to have fun while also being active.

“The main purpose of the events are to get the students out and active. We try to get the students out participating in events they don’t even know that they’re actually exercising in,” Meschke said.

Chioma Asielue, 17, freshman of Abuja, Nigeria was at the event.

“I think it’s good, more people should have shown up and I think better advertising this year would have done it for them. I think it’s really cool,” Asielue said.
