‘Academic Life’ students present wide array of topics
CSC Transitional Students from EDUC- 121 The Academic Life class, held their poster presentations, Wednesday and Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Bordeaux/Lakota room. The presentation were to be a poster and verbal speech which was required as part of the course syllabus. There were over 20 students presenting the two nights.
Students had various topic presentations some including, behavioral characteristics of horses, legalizing marijuana, mental illness and benefits of growing up with pets.
Hannah Goodwin, Freshman of Rapid City, South Dakota was one of the presenters.
“We all [class] have been working on a research paper for a couple months, which we are now presenting on what we found so far. We presented on different topics for sort of different FYI classes and we have our professor Dr. Fritz here,” Goodwin said.
“It is essentially a college preparedness class where we teach education and psychology, and also basic college skills including how to write a research paper and how to create a research poster based on the research they have done on their paper,” assistant professor, Dr. Allison Fritz said.
