Make your own pie event gives students a Thanksgiving treat
RLA hosted ‘Make your own Pie’ in the Hub on Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Hub. The event was for students who could not leave for the Thanksgiving break.
Around 15 students attended the event that provided pie ingredients and and option to create your own pie.
Among the ingredients were pie cups, graham crackers, blueberry, vanilla and chocolate pudding, chocolate chips, whip cream amongst many other toppings. The event was hosted by Lelisse Umeta, 21, junior of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Students grabbed themselves a pie plate and created their specialty pie, there after they sat down to watch the movie, “Home Alone.”
“The event is all about pie, so people can come and make their own pie. We have chocolate and vanilla pudding. We have like kit-Kat chocolate, chocolate chips to put on the pie. We also have apples, for those that want to make apple pie and stuff like that. It’s the season of Thanksgiving so pie is one of the things that characterize that,” Umeta said.
“I love the Graham Cracker crust the most and the pudding. I love that we are getting ready for Christmas and I hope the people staying over for the break would take advantage of the programs,” Mariah Nelson Residence Director of High Rise said.
