Senate inducts new liberal arts senator

Olivia Bryant, 19, sophomore of Anselmo, was named as CSC’s newest student senator at Senate’s regular meeting, Monday,

“While in Senate, I hope to interact with my constituents about the impact Student Senate plays on campus,” Bryant said, “I also joined Senate because I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to represent the student body.”

The Senate still has open positions for a liberal arts, Kent, and diversity senator – the former being a new position created by the senate.

In other business, Edna Senator Laura Clay was one of two senators to report what students wanted to see improved on campus after Senate President Lily Umeta requested senators seek their constituents ideas on the matter.

“I heard from a few people that there needs to be more open parking on campus,” Clay said, “I had a friend come visit and she had to park way out and walk up to campus because there wasn’t any open parking that wasn’t staff,  resident, or commuter parking.”

Senator Kelsey Crock also mentioned having an ice machine in the Student Center would be convenient for students.

“Parking and Ice, that’s all we got,” said Student Trustee Konery Klueber, a comment that drew laughter from the senators.
