State parks seek feedback
Beginning on April 3 state park visitors will be asked to help improve Nebraska’s state parks by sharing their experiences in state parks.
The University of Nebraska Lincoln’s Bureau of Sociological Research is contraction with Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to conduct surveys in some of Nebraska’s state parks and state recreation areas.
According to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, “Feedback from the survey will help inform Game and Parks about how to better fulfill the wants and needs of Nebraska’s state park visitors.”
Bureau staff will be at the 22 survey locations on the weekends to hand out surveys throughout the summer. Staff can be found near kiosks or the front entrance of parks.
Chadron, Eugene T. Mahoney, Fort Robinson, Platte River, Ponca and Smith Falls state parks will be included in the survey.
The selected state recreation areas are, Branched Oak, Calamus, Fort Kearny, Fremont Lakes, Johnson Lake, Lake McConaughy, Lake Minatare, Lewis and Clark, Louisville, Medicine Creek Reservoir, Merritt, Mormon Island and Summit Lake. The survey will also include historical state parks; Ash Hollow, Buffalo Bill Ranch and Fort Atkinson.
