Student Senate holds Fire Pit Town Hall

On Tuesday, the Fire Pit Committee held a fire pit project town hall in the Student Center in attempts to spread information and get student’s opinions on the project.

Senators were given packets full of information regarding the project and some of the big questions surrounding it. Some decisions were set it stone, such as using natural gas as fuel, while others, like what times the fire pit would be operational, are still up in the air. The fire pit would be maintained by the college and the college would assume liability as soon as it would be completed.

A fact sheet handed out at the event said that Senate plans on having the project completed by fall 2022, but an exact date has not been confirmed.

At its Oct. 11 meeting, Student Senate decided that it would have a final decision on the fire pit by Nov. 15.
