Chadron State men’s basketball started the weekend cold against Fort Lewis College Friday night, losing 87-63 but came back Saturday for a win against Western Colorado University, 90-84, with an Eagle scoring over a third of the points.
CJ Jennings, senior of Colorado Springs, Colorado, set five personal season highs Saturday with 32 points, 12 field goals made, 19 field goals attempted, nine rebounds and 40 minutes played.
“It was fun,” Jennings said. “The basket felt big all night and it was good to finally get it going.”
Jennings was five of five from the free-throw line, making Saturday his third game being 100% from the line. He was also three of four from the arc.
Jennings tied up the score at 50 points for Chadron State against the Mountaineers from the free throw line after making a layup at 14:45 in the second half. He also pushed the biggest lead of 10 points for the Eagles following another layup with seven minutes left of the game.

“We bounced back the way that we should and got back in the win column,” Jennings said. “I like that we fought and battled through all the adversity we have faced.”
