Teigan Marchant, senior of Newcastle, Wyoming, finished first in the steer wrestling after having a final go-round run of six seconds Sunday. He placed himself well for finals after the first go-round by tying for second and third with a 5.9 second run.
With this first place finish, Marchant placed himself fifth in the Central Rocky Mountain College Region (CRMC) standings for Steer wrestling with 235 points.
As of March 21, 2022, the women’s team holds either of 11 teams with 260 points. The men’s rodeo team is ninth of 12 teams with 510 points regionally.
Despite not have a strong weekend performance, Tayle Brink, senior of Reva, South Dakota, still sits seventh in breakaway roping for the region with 160 points, and Parker Johnston, sophomore of Maywood, is currently tied for eighth in bull riding with 100 points.
