Puff puff pass. Most people know this rule nowadays. If you don’t, well it is marijuana.
Marijuana or weed is a big subject lately with people asking is it good or bad for us. It is not as simple as good or bad. It’s both.
To answer this question, we need to look at all the ways there is to consume marijuana.
There are so many ways such as smoking, vaping, or taking it as edibles. It is shown that just like tobacco products you should not smoke weed.
Inhaling any smoke into the lungs is bad for them. This can cause lung problems, and COPD. There are negative effects to all the types of consuming weed. Such as vaping. Most people think vaping it is healthier since it is not smoke, but a water based vape.
They are sort of accurate. Again, inhaling it into the lungs is bad. Scientists recommend if you are going to blaze up then to do it through a water bong and maybe add some ice to it.
This is because the water acts as a filter and takes out some of the toxins you find when smoking. The ice or cold water also cools down the smoke that is entering the lungs. Sadly, to say the vapes that are filled with weed juice can not be said if they are positive or negative because not enough research has been done.
Most scientists say edibles are the way. This this because it is not inhaling anything into the lungs, but they can be just as harmful. Most people don’t know how much to take. So they guess and when they don’t feel high enough right away they take more.
Edibles can take anywhere from 30 mins to two hours. If you take too much you cross into the negative side effects like paranoia. Most people worry that marijuana is a gateway drug. Scientists have proven it is not.
They started using it to get people off harder drugs and to control opioid use. They use marijuana because it is a controlled high, so it helps them get off the harder drugs.
Don’t think that people using it to control chronic pain and PTSD is all good though because some people react negatively to it. Such as getting tired, anxious, or unmotivated. People with these chronic issues may feel they need weed.
Although there is a lot of negatives there is also positives.
Such as most science has showed it slows the growth of cancer. It helps with epilepsy, depression, eating disorders and so much more. They are using weed to help with chronic pain, Chron’s and sleeping disorders.
It also helps with many mood disorders. Even though it helps with all these things scientists still recommend no one under 21 use it. It can give negative side effects to a developing brain.
So, the question is not if it is bad, it is why do people think it is bad. The common answer is because just like anything else too much is bad. If used correctly it is more helpful than harmful.
