Senate allocates funding to several clubs
Student senate discussed changes they would like to make in the future and allocated to two large campus events in its 4 p.m. meeting Monday.
Student Trustee Sullivan Jones, Senior of Papillion, began the meeting by announcing the topics he discussed in the NSCS board meeting that took place Jan. 12. He then proceeded by asking the senate what they would like to change about the student government at CSC.
“I think that student government needs to be a liaison between the general student population and those in higher positions of power,” student senate President Olivia Bryant, senior of Anselmo, said in the meeting. “I think being a facilitator of those important conversations is really important.”
The senate discussed being more prideful representing the students, being more persistent with the administration about getting results and getting answers to students’ questions.
Following the discussion, student senate allocated $4,800 to the International Club for the International Food Tasting Party that will be held Feb. 9-11
Senate then allocated an additional $15,000 to Spring Daze which senate announced will take place Tuesday, April 11-15.
