Eagles Set to Open Outdoor Season at Home This Friday
The Chadron State College track and field team is set to kick off its outdoor season Friday, March 20, hosting its first home meet of the year.
After a strong indoor season, the Eagles are looking to carry that momentum into the outdoor campaign, where they’ll compete in a full slate of events including sprints, relays, distance races, and field events.
For many athletes, opening the season at home adds an extra level of excitement.
“We’ve been putting in the work all indoor season, and now it’s time to show what we can do outside,” said student-athlete Diego Perez. “Opening at home makes it even better because we get that support from our community.”
The Eagles feature a talented roster this season, including multiple national qualifiers and one of the top triple jumpers in the country. The home meet gives the team an early opportunity to set qualifying marks and establish themselves as a strong contender this outdoor season.
With a competitive field expected and favorable conditions, the meet is shaping up to be an exciting start to the season.
Events will begin Friday at the track facility on campus. Students, faculty, and community members are encouraged to come out and support the Eagles as they open their outdoor season at home.
