By putting down some roots and participating on campus as well as in the community, we can all gain a sense of home and belonging.

College students are invincible. How do I know? No matter how many times she has asked, I always told my mom that rugby was safe. No matter how convinced I was that I’d never be the one to get injured, I ended up breaking my hand. At first, the only lesson I learned was a lesson of pain.

In our everyday experiences, we get what we give. As an interacting society, we gain much when we collaborate and suffer when we don’t. The world has much to offer, and the benefits we stand to gain are increased when our community is fully functioning.

Recess as a child serves as a good example. Somebody ruined a game with excessive force, which inevitably hurt someone. The teacher would rush over and dissolve the game immediately. The majority was punished because of one or two people. Where’s the justice?

America is the land of the free. This privilege of freedom allows us to express our thoughts without holding back. We all have a right to form opinions, and usually we aren’t afraid to share them.
