Chadron State’s Educational Association, one of three employee unions at the college, is offering $1,000 in student scholarships for the upcoming spring semester.

On Friday, CSC’s IT Department sent an email to all students stating that their EagleMail accounts would soon be upgraded with a new framework–Office 365.

Former CSC president Sam Rankin died early Sunday in a Dayton, Ohio hospital. Rankin suffered a short bout with pancreatic cancer.

The Nebraska Forest Service will be hosting it’s sixth annual Nebraska Wildland Fire Academy April 13-21, 2013. The cost to register is $30 per class.

The Sexual Assault Victim Empowerment group is having a Stand Up Speak Out support group at 7 p.m., Thursday, in the Scottsbluff room in the Student Center.

The support group is offered in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. At the event, group members and a guest speaker will be addressing and raising awareness of sexual assault.

Those who attend will be able to listen to real stories about men and women’s’ rights. Ribbons, bracelets, and CD’s will be handed out.

Jay Long, head football coach, is expected to make $77,500 for the 2012-13 academic year, dependent on the Nebraska State College System Board of Trustee’s approval at its Friday meeting.

Long, who replaces former Head Coach Bill O’Boyle, will start out the fall semester with at a salary 24 percent greater than his predecessor.

Bruce Hoem, associate professor of Counseling, Psychology & Social Work is set to deliver a presentation titled, “Vietnam – Stories of a Time Near and Far,” as part of the 2011-12 Dorset Graves Lecture Series. Hoem will be speaking 7 p.m., Tuesday in King Library #108.

According to Chris Green, Nelson Physical Activity Center coordinator, the NPACs hours will change due to the Easter weekend holiday. The NPAC will be closed Saturday and Monday. March 21-April 6, senior art students are exhibiting their culminate projects in Memorial Hall’s main gallery. Artists include Morgan Allberry, Kelsey Bogus, Jean Dobias, Timm Hoff, Joshua Hoffman, Daniel King, Marty Lastovica, Kathy Underwood, and Tiffany Wiley. A special artist’s reception will be 4-6 p.m. Friday. Refreshments will be served. Aptly named “The Big Show,” the exhibit represents Chadron’s diverse talent pool. The Main Gallery is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
