Chadron State is on the brink of hiring someone to fill the college’s newly created accounting position, which will monitor athletic department finances, CSC’s Vice President of Administration and Finance Dale Grant, said Tuesday.

Chelsea Waldorf, junior of Hill City, S.D., and Nathaniel Martens, junior of Newton, Kan., were selected from about 15 applicants to receive the Chadron State College Education Application Scholarship.

Waldorf, a psychology major, and Marten, a criminal justice major, were notified just before Christmas break and were officially awarded the $500 scholarships at the beginning of the current semester.
