Two common rooms in the CSC dormitory complex were renamed this week. The grand opening of “The Landing,” formerly Kent Hall’s “Red Room,” was 8 p.m. Monday, and the “The Hub,” located in the Breezeway and formerly the “Gold Room,” was 7 p.m. Wednesday.

New Texas gun legislation has students up in arms

Last week, many students at the University of Texas, Austin, gathered around campus to orchestrate a rather ill-humored, yet powerful campaign against recent legislation in the state. As of Aug. 1, staff and students on both public and private college campuses across Texas can now legally carry concealed guns.

Be risky, don’t take college for granted

Here we are, cruising into week two, almost three, of the new semester. Some, such as myself, are nearing the close of our collegiate career and sighing mournfully as we wait in anticipation for the adult world, while others are only just beginning their journey with bright eyes and high hopes.
