Read MoreAll-American long jumpers Damarcus Simpson, sophomore of Lafayette, Georgia, and Stachia Reuwsaat, junior of Black Hawk, South Dakota, earned RMAC honors this week after the Colorado State University-Pueblo Open. Both won the men’s and women’s long jump, respectively. Simpson jumped 24 feet, 1 inch, and Reuwsaat jumped 19-2 3/4.

In last week’s paper, my column followed the terroristic attack in Brussels; a catastrophic affair in which numerous people were wounded, terrorized, and ripped away from their families. Many people rushed to their aid, however, a specific group of people instead fled to social media or media outlets to use this tragedy as an opportunity to push their political agenda (I’m looking at you presidential candidates).
