Hannah Love was nominated, approved, and sworn in as the new vice chair of finance. Kirby Krogman stepped down from the position due to his December 2014 graduation.

Chief Justice Jon Lordino announced the candidates running for Senate positions, include Dillon Spies and Nate Jones for Senate President; Taylor Strong and Garrett Lower for Vice President; Lindsey Schanaman, Tim Jungquist, Hannah Love, Asia Carr, Evan Baker, Josh Keating, and Taylor Strong for Senators-at-Large; Tileen Sullivan and Eryne Knipple for Senators of B.E.A.M.S.S.; Annie Johnson and Dalton Boden for Senators of E.H.P.C.P.S.W.; Mikayla Gallagher, Courtney Bustillos, Katrina Hurley, and Sarah Townsend for Senator of Liberal Arts.

Lack of publicity prompted Senate’s executive board to extend the deadline for election petitions.

A roll call vote resolved conflict over budget for the water bottle filling stations during Monday’s Senate meeting. A $12,000 to $27,000 budget was provided by contractors to finance the units and installation.

Senate begins organization for re-elections. Petitions for re-election are due March 31 and require 10 signatures for election. Senate applications can be found on the Student Senate CSC webpage.

Seven thousand dollars will fund this year’s “Release Live” event. Senate agreed to allocate $1,000 above the requested budget due to last year’s complications with budget estimates. Any extra funding will be returned to the student activity fund. “Release Live” will be March 22.

Senate plans to explore possible scholarship funds to create more competition, participation, and involvement from the student body.
