Junior roper Prestyn Novak, of Newell, South Dakota, won tie-down roping and steer wrestling at the Colorado State University rodeo in Fort Collins last weekend. Novak was also the runner-up in the all-around cowboy standings with 270 points, only 25 points behind Gillette College, Wyoming, Cowboy Riley James Wakefield sophomore of O’Neill.

This weekend the women’s rodeo team showed what it’s capable of, taking second with 280 points at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyoming, while the men’s team finished third with 320 points.

Over the weekend CSC wrangled two second-place and three third-place finishes in the first Central Rocky Mountain Region rodeo of the spring 2017 season at Gillette College, Wyoming. The men tied for first place with Central Wyoming College, Riverton, each scoring 385 points, while the women placed fifth with 150 points.

Sitting on the back of a 2,000 pound bull, he holds on to the flat braided rope with his riding hand, relying on nothing more than the strength of his legs and quick balance to keep him there. With a quick nod of his head, signaling he is ready, the gate to the chute flies open as the bull explodes into the arena. Holding on with all he has as he waits for the buzzer to sound, ending “the most dangerous eight seconds in sports.”

The CSC rodeo team finished out its fall season last weekend at the Laramie County Community College rodeo in Cheyenne.

The CSC cowboys made an impressive show this weekend at the Central Wyoming College rodeo in Riverton. The men earned enough points to claim the men’s team title and land them second overall in the Central Rocky Mountain Region.

Chasen Cole and Brandi Cwach led CSC entries in third rodeo of regional circuit

The Chadron State College rodeo teams traveled to Sheridan, Wyoming, this weekend to compete in the second Central Rocky Mountain Conference rodeo on the fall schedule. The men’s team finished the rodeo second overall, just behind Sheridan College, Sheridan, Wyoming.
