Steve and Susan Rolfsmeier presented people’s impact through citizen science in natural history preservation as guest presenters of the Tapestry program Saturday at the Chadron Public Library.

Students from regional high schools gathered for the Healthcare Professions Showcase in the Student Center Wednesday.
The CSC Health Professions Department, in association with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), Area Health Education Center (AHEC), and Chadron State College Admissions, sponsored the event, according to Director of Health Professions Kristal Kuhnel.

As darkness begins to fall on Friday, the audience buzzes as they wait for the start of the concert. Around 7 p.m., the mass of people attending quickly grows to 100, adding to the chatter.

The Diversity Cupcakes event was in the Gold Room Wednesday with more than 20 students showing up. It was hosted by the resident assistants Kate Chesterman, 20, junior of Bertrand; Stephanie Wilson, 22, senior of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Courtney Munger, 20, junior of Newcastle, Wyoming; and Chelsea Haynes, 20, junior of Auburn.

J.K. Rowling’s first “Harry Potter” book was released nearly two decades ago and not only is her series the most popular in publishing history with 450 million copies sold worldwide, according to thedailybeast.com, but her imaginary game, Quidditch, has become a reality around the world and at CSC, minus the flying broomsticks and magical balls, of course.

Wednesday night’s Homecoming festivities brought another year of historic CSC tradition with the lighting of C-Hill, and excitement with the announcement of this year’s Homecoming court.
