Aaron Gonzalez’s article “Is Christianity good for the World?” does indeed fuel a thrilling debate, as I’m sure was intended. I myself enjoy debating issues, however I disagree with debating something so foundational to our nation’s people.

We’ve recently seen a rise in violence in America. From the most current incident in Tucson, Ariz., involving the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, to the “endangered disappearance” of middle-school cheerleader Hailey Dunn, to Nebraska’s own Tyler Thomas, it seems that our nation is increasingly prone to violence.

Lacking the recognition and luster of other sports, many college students do not view track meets as exciting events. But the events featured at track meets can be just as exciting as a punch or foul at a basketball game or an unexpected turnover in a football game.
