“Styles Around the World,” a fashion show, took place at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Student Center Lounge as part of International Education week.

Nov. 4, 80 students from five neighboring Nebraskan high schools gathered in Memorial Hall for workshops featuring both high school instructors and CSC professors. Workshop topics ranged broadly, including brass articulation and improvisation, melodic improvisation, and rhythmic improvisation. The day concluded with a group jam session featuring CSC professors and select student soloists.

The CSC Art department hosted its annual “High School Art Day” Monday. Estimates place attendance at around 100 students from 10 Nebraska schools and two schools from South Dakota.

There I was in fourth grade math, trying my hardest to concentrate on the numbers when they danced straight off my page and began doing an elaborate production to the tune of “My Favorite Things.”

Jacob Zitterkopf and Ashley Maxon, two CSC students, gave a presentation to a good turnout Nov. 4 as part of the Science Abroad lecture series.

“Viva la Salsa,” an evening of salsa dancing, as well as salsa dip and chips, took place Oct. 28 in the Student Center.

A broad variety of events took place through CSC during the Halloween weekend, including a dance, a poetry reading, and a caramel apple eating event.
