Elections for senate to close on Friday

Elections for senate began Wednesday at noon, and close noon on Friday, April 20. The winners of the election will be announced at 5 p.m. on Friday and will be in next week’s edition of the paper. If you are running, you will get an email will the results. Inauguration of the winners will be on Monday, April 23.
“Make sure you guys vote. You guys should be getting an email on Wednesday around noon,” Chief Justice Samantha Merrill said.
Senate allocated $3,000 towards the budget of Week of Welcome Events.
The new website for CSC is up and running.
“If you guys have any questions, Alex Helmbrecht did send out an email about a week ago with a YouTube video to explain how to use it,” President Carly Slaught said.
To celebrate Asian-Pacific Heritage month, the cafeteria will have an Asian-Pacific Heritage meal is from 10:30a.m. -1:30 p.m., today.
CAB had their last Free Movie Night of the semester on Sunday, with a turnout of 230 students. From 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, CAB will host the last Free Bowling Night of the semester.
“Pizza will be provided, so I hope to see you guys there,” CAB Representative Kimberly Hernandez said.
Due to the snow day on Friday, several of the Spring Days Events were canceled. Senate discussed whether some of these events would be rescheduled.
“We were thinking maybe next week sometime, or it might be later this week. With the contracts, it gets weird with payment and that sort of thing,” Faculty Advisor Megan Bren said. “So, we might reschedule bongo ball for Week of Welcome if possible. And then, the exotic animals we might have in the Student Center this week or hopefully next week.”
In another matter, Senate discussed and added some insight to the proposed Homecoming week themes for next year. Proposed themes included Homecoming Road trip: Hunger Games themed week, Happily Ever Homecoming: Disney themed week, Chadron Got Game: A board game themed week, Home Sweet Homecoming, and a “Rock” theme week. A theme has not yet been chosen.
