Randy Rhine, Vice President of Enrollment Managaement and Student Services, spoke to Student Senate about re-surfacing the NPAC’s floor, Treasurer T.J. Thomson talked about amendments to Student Finance Committee’s constitution, and money was allocated to the PR Club for Battle of the bands at this week’s Student Senate meeting.

Members of senate discussed the AIPAC conference, budget hearings, and an amendment at their meeting Monday. Morgan Nelson, senate president, and Jacob Rissler, junior senator at large, gave a presentation on their trip to Washington D.C., during midterm break, where they attended the American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference.

A proposed amendment to Student Senate’s constitution dominated discussion at Monday Night’s Students Senate meeting.

The proposed amendment would change the number of senator positions that would be open. There would be three positions open for each school rather than eight, and each dorm would also have a representative.

Senate members concluded the discussion about amendments to the constitution and discussed the new general studies program at their meeting on Monday.

Student Senate passed a bylaw revision to their constitution Monday.

Vice President James Bahensky said that the revision changes when elections will take place. The bylaws state that fall election proceeding will begin the third Monday of September and that spring election proceedings will begin the third Monday of April. The revision was unanimously approved.

Student Senate had a brief meeting Monday night when they discussed gathering student opinions for improvements on campus and the rules of solicitation on campus.
