In the first meeting of the spring semester, Senate announced various positions in student government, including senators at large and Constitutional Court justices, are vacant and in need of filling.

Constitutional Court has declared Senate’s Nov. 5 veto constitutional, giving Senate the go-ahead to vote and allocate $6,000 toward The Big Event.

Senate motioned to delay voting on The Big Event budget  another week to hear the Constitutional Court’s verdict on Nov. 9’s veto.

Senators voted unanimously to send last week’s minutes to Constitutional Court in lieu of cloudy by-laws and questions involving The Big Event budget’s veto.

In a meeting Tuesday with editors from The Eagle, members of Senate further clarified budget decisions that led to the Big Event budget veto.

After a request by AFB, Vice President Konery Klueber, junior of Rapid City, South Dakota, vetoed The Big Event’s budget and opened an extra two weeks for discussion on the topic.

Senate brought in Marlys Brenning, 21, senior of Culbertson, for an opinion hearing of Klueber V. Tedesse due to an unexcused absence of Natneal Tedesse, junior of Chadron, Monday. 

The budget proposal for Health Professions Club ski trip was declined by a 13-2 vote during Monday evening’s Senate meeting.
