Last weekend the Chardon State rodeo team traveled to an event hosted by Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colo. Although no Eagle contestant placed first or second, CSC did finish with eight members placed between third and sixth.

This weekend’s rodeo took place at Casper College, with neither the men’s nor the women’s team placing overall.

Chadron State College rodeo’s Kelsey Scott junior of Douglas, Wyo., is again in the top spot in the Central Rocky Mountain Region for breakaway roping. She claimed the title for the fall half of the season with 265 points.

The Chadron State College Rodeo Team competed Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyo.

The Chadron State College women’s rodeo team placed fourth with 180 points at the Gillette College Rodeo, Gillette, Wyo., last Friday through Sunday. The men’s team did not place.

Kaylee Gallino, junior of Wasta, S.D., was the first Chadron State rodeo member this semester to receive an all-around title at last weekend’s rodeo at Laramie Community College in Cheyenne, Wyo.

Bareback rider Whitten Hoover, junior of Ainsworth, and steer wrestler Tyrel Bonnet, junior of Newell, S.D., both placed second in their events at the Lamar Community College rodeo this past weekend in Lamar, Colo.

Although two steer wrestlers placed in the third and first positions of the short round at the Sheridan College Rodeo, the men’s team still landed in seventh of ten teams.

The Chadron State women’s rodeo team placed second in the Central Wyoming College Rodeo last weekend.

“It’s not the strongest that win the most, it’s the most consistent that win the most.”

This is Rodeo Coach Dustin Luper’s theory on winning. His women’s team, however, has been both most consistent and strongest.
