The CSC wrestling team traveled to Colorado Springs, Colorado, Saturday, for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships, where they faced tough competition.

The CSC wrestling team participated in two duals this weekend at Western State Colorado University, Gunnison, and Colorado Mesa University, Grand Junction, coming out on top against Colorado Mesa.

The CSC wrestling team traveled to Laramie, Wyoming, last weekend to compete in the Cowboy Open at the University of Wyoming, with two CSC wrestlers placing in their respective weight classes.

Chance Helmick, junior of Beatrice, 174-pounds, went 1-2 at the NCAA D-II Tournament in Birmingham, Alabama, Friday to end his season with a record of 33-8.

After three CSC wrestlers advanced to the second day of the regional tournament, only Chance Helmick, junior of Beatrice, 174-pounds, advanced to NCAA National Championships March 10-11 in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Eagles lost their first conference dual of the season Saturday against Colorado State University-Pueblo. The Eagles only scored nine points in the 20-point loss.

Six wrestlers finished in the top five, including three champions, at the RMAC Championships tournament Saturday in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Taylor Summers, senior of Plymouth, 133-pounds; Chance Helmick, junior of Beatrice, 174-pounds; and Cooper Cogdill, sophomore of Chadron, heavyweight, finished the day 3-0 at the top of the podium.

The Eagle wrestlers won two more duals this week to finish at the top spot in the conference with a 6-0 RMAC-dual record. CSC defeated New Mexico Highlands University, Las Vegas, 19-17, and Adams State University, Alamosa, Colorado, 21-18. Both duals came down to the final match as the decision maker, again.
