Ringing in the rooster

The Chadron State College Residence Life Association rang in the Chinese New Year in the Hub at 7 p.m. Friday.
RLA hosted a Chinese New Year party to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Rooster, in accordance with the Chinese Zodiac cycle. Around 40 students attended the event.
Olivia Vester, 20, senior of Glen Dive, Montana, also attended the party. She mentioned that the Chinese New Year party was a way for RLA members to investigate other cultures and how they celebrate a new year.
The party included informational posters on the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Rooster. Fortune cookies, egg rolls, rangoons, soda, and bottles of water were available to guests. Partygoers had the chance to make lanterns and good luck charms at crafting stations.
