Senate inducted two new members and filled the chief justice position at Monday’s meeting.

Senate discussed approved funding for new TVs and Mardi Gras activities at Monday’s meeting.

Student Senate had an in-depth meeting this week discussing Alternative Spring Break and Mardi Gras.

The student center meeting planned for 5 p.m. Monday was cancelled due to a combination of extreme weather conditions and the cancelling of night classes by the college, said Jacob Karmazin, student senate president.

Student Senate discussed Alternative Spring Break, key fob plans, and changes for school requirements at its ten-minute meeting Monday.

Ashley Maxon, treasurer, presented the key fob survey results and the senate discussed upcoming events at its Monday meeting. Maxon said that of the 402 students who participated in the survey on key fob access, the majority feel safe on campus.

Student Senate approved two new clubs and heard an update about the safe-rides program at its meeting Monday.

The Student Senate met briefly Monday to welcome students back for the spring semester. Owing to weather and road conditions, many senators had not yet returned to campus.

In observance of Labor Day, the Student Senate did not meet Monday. Regular Senate meetings will reconvene next Monday.

A new executive board was voted on and sworn in at the Senate meeting Monday.
